On that fateful day in February 2013, Ben and Kyle were taking their usual lunch break at the local Dunkin Donuts. A conversation was struck up about sports writing and thus the Broad Street Beat was born. Fellow Saint Joseph's University marketing major Matt was brought on to cover the Sixers and soon the content began piling up. After months of vetting highly qualified candidates for the position of Eagles correspondent, Steve surpassed them all and snagged the job just in time for the transition from a blogspot to a .com. Then along came Dan, and just like that, five pieces became a whole (we're corny like that), with Leo Porth as Leo. Writers have come and gone, but the evolution of the Broad Street Beat continues, and it's all because of you, the reader.
