We here at the BSB have been slacking a bit on our City 6 Rankings to start the season. For those of you who noticed, we applaud you. Those who didn't, kindly visit the site more frequently.
We're already into the third week of the college basketball season and we've got a bit of movement since our preseason City 6 Rankings were released. Without further adieu...

Rank (Record; Previous Ranking)
6. Drexel (0-6; 5)
Drexel wasted little time heading to a very distant back of the pack in these rankings. The Dragons opened the season with a one-point loss to Saint Joseph's on the road and have continued to struggle since then, amassing an 0-6 record.
It is going to be a rough season for Drexel, and that is putting it a little nicely.
5. La Salle (4-1; 4)
La Salle is off to a solid 4-1 start, with their one loss coming against Penn. The Explorers were beat by 16 in that game as they had no answer for Darien Nelson-Henry.
The Explorers rebounded with a 30-point rout of D-III Rowan, and will next face a mediocre Hofstra squad on Wednesday before hosting Drexel on Saturday, both of which should be wins for La Salle.
4. Penn (4-2; 6)
Penn is off to a much better start than a season ago, when they opened the year 0-5. The Quakers were dominated by Washington for their first loss of the season, but answered that with a solid win against La Salle, in which Darien Nelson-Henry recorded 31 points and 14 rebounds.
The Quakers followed that with a loss to a subpar Lafayette squad on Sunday, but still appear to be in much better shape than a year ago.
3. Temple (2-3; 2)
Temple has been the victim of a very tough schedule thus far. The Owls opened the season with a loss against then #1 North Carolina at the Naval Academy. Temple would rebound a bit with a win over Minnesota in the Puerto Rico Tipoff before running into two ranked opponents (Butler and Utah) in the following rounds of the tournament.
The Owls would drop both those contests, but returned home on Sunday where they picked up a 19-point win over Delaware. Temple is still feeling things out a bit, but look like a team that should be able to hang against ranked squads and maybe even win against some of them.
2. Saint Joseph's (4-1; 3)
Saint Joseph's is off to a solid start, opening the season at 4-1, with their only loss coming against Florida at the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament.
While the Hawks have looked much improved since a season ago, they are in for a true test on Tuesday, when they welcome #8 Villanova to Hagan Arena for the Holy War. Villanova should win that game, but bigger upsets have occurred in big rivalry games like this.
1. Villanova (6-0; 1)
Another season, another season of Villanova being far and away the best team in the city. The Wildcats again have a pretty stacked lineup that includes five players currently averaging 9.5 points or more per game.
Villanova will open its Big 5 play against Saint Joseph's on Tuesday, but their real test awaits next week when they will face #6 Oklahoma.
