Will Cummings took the court in his home state of Florida on Wednesday night just 14 points shy of becoming the 50th player in Temple Owls history to join the 1,000 point club.
Cummings would do more than enough to join the exclusive club, scoring a game-high 19 points to guide Temple to a 61-48 win over USF on the road.
The Owls would fall behind early, trailing by eight with just more than five minutes remaining in the half. Temple would close the half strong, however, utilizing a 10-3run to close out the half and head to the locker room trailing just 24-23.

Temple would begin to take command as the second half wore on, but would find themselves unable to put the Bulls away for good until the closing minutes.
With 6:19 remaining in the game, Cummings would step to the foul line with the Owls leading 51-42. He would need to sink just one free throw to notch his 1,000th career point.
Cummings, who entered the game having made 300 free throws in his career, would sink both foul shots to notch points #1,000 and 1,001, and give the Owls a double-digit lead in the process.
Temple would remain in command over the final minutes, picking up a 61-48 win to improve to 16-7 on the season and 7-3 in AAC play.
Cummings would lead all scorers with 19 for the game, scoring 10 of those points from the charity stripe, as he continued to display his innate ability to get to the foul line in the Owls' win.
