Keeping in line with their last matchup together, the Drexel Dragons got off to a quick star and defeated the Hofstra Pride once again by a final score of 74-63. This win brings the Dragons to a record of 14-11 on the season and 6-6 in the CAA. Senior guard Frantz Massenat led the way for Drexel with 24 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds and 3 steals on 7-12 shooting. Massenat had himself an excellent all around game for the Dragons and has been their clear go to guy this season.
Four guys finished in double figures for the Dragons, with Chris Fouch scoring 16 on 4-10 shooting, Dartaye Ruffin finishing with 10 points on 4-5 shooting, and Rodney Williams finishing with 11 points on 2-5 shooting and 7-8 from the free throw line. Somebody on the Dragons must have read my last article (thank you for the page views, whom ever read it), because unlike in their last game against Charleston, the Dragons offense was incredibly smooth all game long. Other players besides Massenat, Fouch and Allen were getting more looks on offense, and they finished with a lot more assists as a team. Coach Bruiser Flint did an excellent job of reviewing what went wrong for the Dragons last game and made sure to prepare them much more for tonight's matchup. Whether this win is just another win or if it leads a strong run to end the regular season will determine how the Dragons will fare in the CAA tournament coming up in mid March.
Next Game: Wednesday, February 19 @ James Madison 7pm
PS: I personally hate the James Madison home court. I know that the idea was to do something original and leave a huge design to liven up the court, but it's just too much stimulus to look at from your TV at home. Not looking forward to having to look at their court for 40 minutes on Wednesday night.
