Tony Hicks went off tonight for the Quakers, scoring a career high 33 points. Miles Jackson-Cartwright added 13 as Penn went on to defeat the Niagara Purple Eagles 85-66.
Penn controlled the boards tonight 43-30 with Fran Dougherty leading the way with 8. Penn also outshot Niagara 55% to 37.5% from the field. The Quakers were able to grab the lead early in the first half and never relinquished it.
For Niagara, Antoine Mason, who inexplicably leads all of Division 1 with 31.2 points per game, certainly held up his end of the bargain. Mason put up 31, unfortunately for him, none of his teammates were able to contribute much in the way of help. Niagara's second leading scorer had 9.
Penn (2-3) travels up 476...and then east on 78 this Saturday to take on Lafayette. The Leopards will be hungry for their first win of the season, brandishing an 0-5 record thus far.
