Penn played the Yale Bulldogs close tonight in the first half, but the home Bulldogs were able to start a 10-0 run that carried through halftime and into the second half to seal the game. Penn was up 22-21 with 2:37 left in the first half, but that was the last time they would lead.
If Penn had been able to pull off the win tonight they'd be 4-2 and in much better position. Now they are 3-3 and face a tough Brown team tomorrow. Every game is starting to count as the season draws to an end in the tournament-less Ivy League.
Tony Hicks was the Quakers leading scorer tonight with 19 points. Darien Nelson-Henry and Fran Dougherty put up 12 and 10 respectively, numbers that could get the W most nights, but not tonight when the rest of the team only went for a combined 13 points.
Turnovers were an issue earlier this season, but the Quakers seem to have corrected that. They reared their ugly head again tonight though as the Quakers nearly doubled Yale's TO margin 20-11.
Justin Sears was the leading scorer on Yale, posting 25.
Penn moves on to Rhode Island tomorrow night to take on Brown. Tip is at 6:00pm. Winner is in sole possession of 3rd place in the Ivy League.
