Saint Joseph's welcomed Duquesne to Hagan Arena this evening, as the Hawks looked to win their second straight and seventh in their past eight contests. Just like the last game against George Mason, the Hawks would have to look elsewhere for contributions, as Ronald Roberts was sidelined yet again with back spasms and Isaiah Miles with a concussion.
Behind a dominate early performance, in which senior guard Langston Galloway put on a show, the Hawks built a huge halftime lead, coasting in the second act for an 84-75 win.

It was all Saint Joseph's from the start, as the Hawks grabbed a quick 9-0 lead and never trailed in the game. The Hawks would shoot the lights out of Hagan Arena early, especially from beyond the arc, making 5 of their first 7 from deep to help grow their lead to 23-5.
Langston Galloway seemed unstoppable in the first half, as he helped the Hawks build a sizable lead, scoring 16 of the Saint Joseph's first 34 points. Saint Joseph's would continue to keep its foot on the throttle, leading by as much as 37, as they went to the break with a 52-20 lead.
"We played like a home team," said Saint Joseph's coach Phil Martelli. "We shot the ball obviously extraordinarily well. If you shoot 71 percent in the first half, it kind of dictated it."
For the half, Galloway would score 24 points, making 9 of his 11 shots, including going 6 for 7 from beyond the arc.
It would be a different story in the second half, as Martelli took the opportunity to rest his starters, playing mostly reserves and giving minutes to his walk ons. Galloway would cool down, taking just four shots in the second half, but Chris Wilson would heat up, as the junior guard scored 11 second half points while going 3 for 3 from beyond the arc.
With Saint Joseph's leading 76-43 with 7:06 remaining, the starters would begin to bow out of the game for the Hawks. Facing a lineup of reserves, Duquesne began to chip away at the lead, almost making the game look respectable is you only looked at the final score.
"We did what a home team is supposed to do. We established it early. Players did a really wonderful job of recognizing Langston being hot," Martelli said.
Putting things on cruise control in the second half, the Hawks would win by a final of 84-75, as they improved to 11-5 on the season and 2-1 in A-10 play.
Leading all scorers in the game, Langston Galloway finished with 26 points, just two of which came in the second half, as the senior spent much of the half on the bench resting. Chris Wilson would finish with 16 for the Hawks, as they coasted to victory, shooting 64.6 percent on the game and 71.4 percent in the first half.
"We just have to go out there and adjust to who is out there and just try to get a win," said Langston Galloway after the win. "Once I get going I figure that I can get the ball, dish the ball and get them going as well."
Saint Joseph's will head out of the A-10 next, as they face Big 5 rival Penn on Saturday at the Palestra.
