DeAndre' Bembry continued to find his groove on Thursday night. With the Hawks trailing 46-40 just more than eight minutes into the second half, Bembry would lead Saint Joseph's on a 12-6 run to knot the game at 52-52, as the sophomore scored 10 of the Hawks' 12 points during the run. Bembry would finish with a game-high and career-high 23 points, but it would not be enough for the Hawks, as they fell to the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers 62-59. |
Free throw shooting continued to be a thorn in the Hawks' side in their Thanksgiving night contest, as they went just 6-for-15 from the charity stripe.
The Hawks appear to be in for a long season as their young lineup will likely suffer from some growing pains. Failing to make foul shots will only exacerbate those growing pains.
Phil Martelli and his squad will now have six days to work on their broken free throw shooting before a Big 5 showdown with Temple at home.
