"I was really pleased that we finished strong. Anything could've happened today and it was really in the player's hands and they impressed me," said Villanova head coach Jay Wright. "It confirmed everything I thought about these guys and they just love to play ball. We can go into practice Monday with good momentum and I'm really thrilled about that."
Five Villanova players finished the game in double figures, as Darrun Hilliard led the way with 19 points and JayVaughn Pinkston pitched in 13 points and 7 rebounds. James Bell and Ryan Arcidiacono notched 11 points apiece and Kris Jenkins added 10 off the bench, as Villanova shot over 50 percent for the game.
The win helps to solidify Villanova's case for a #1 seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament, but there is still work to be done, as the Wildcats will next play in the quarterfinals of the Big East Tournament on Thursday.
