In what should have been the sixth win of the year for the Eagles, they instead struggled down the stretch, as they went on to lose 24-20 to Arizona. Foles threw 62 passes and finished with 411 yards passing, but he need just 16 more to capitalize on the final drive. After some bad coverage on defense after the two minute warning, Foles and the Eagles' offense was left with 81 seconds to march down the field and get a touchdown. They got to the 16 yard line for the final play, but the pass was thrown a bit too close to the sideline as Jordan Matthews caught it, but was shoved out of bounds before being able to get both feet down.
Everything went right for the Eagles last night; Shady was picking up large gains on the ground, Foles found his receivers early and often, the offensive line pushed the Giants' pass rushers around, and the defense didn't allow a single point. It was the complete opposite for the G-Men, as Eli was sacked six times on the night and they had no answer for the Eagles' aerial attack.
![]() Every team in football has it's rivalry matchups, but it seems like the rivalry games that the Eagles have are just a thousand times better than those other, less important teams. Those four Cowboys and Giants games a year are always great, especially when the Birds fly off with a win. Yeah, the Redskins are a rival too, but they're never as worthy an opponent as the Cowboys and Giants. It's always personal and always filled with trash talk A huge part of what made 2013 a special season for the Eagles was the talent they had on the offensive line. Not only that, but they stayed healthy all season long and helped the Eagles capture the division title. This season, however, the Birds have suffered quite a few injuries and suspensions on the line, more than making up for last season.
