The Philadelphia Eagles got absolutely manhandled by the Denver Broncos to the tune of 52-20 this afternoon. Peyton Manning had his way with the porous Eagles D, throwing for over 300 yards and 4 touchdowns in only 3 quarters of action. The Broncos looked every bit the Super Bowl favorite in this one by generally manhandling the struggling Eagles in every aspect of the game.
I can’t even say many complaints about the Eagles defense here. I know they looked terrible, but I’m starting to think that maybe the Broncos are really just THAT good. I mean, they did whatever they wanted without any opposition. Gotta appreciate greatness when you see it and we might be witnessing one of the better offensive squads in recent memory.
This isn’t the end of the world. Despite the low point output, the Eagles still have one of the more productive offenses in football. The defense can only improve from here out (hopefully) and hey, at least we don’t have to play the Broncos again next week!
P.S. Omaha is now my least favorite word in the English language.
