There are three truths that are guaranteed in life: death, taxes, and the Eagles signing and then releasing Julian Vandervelde every week. Vandervelde signed with the Eagles on October 14th of last season and stuck with the team until he was released on September 5th this year.
His journey didn't end there, however. He was resigned on September 16th, and released yet again last Tuesday the 22nd. Hopefully, this time he will stick for the season. With Andrew Gardner now out for the year, there is an immediate need for some depth on the offensive line.
Vandervelde was originally drafted by Philadelphia in 2011, but was waived by the Eagles after his rookie season. He had a brief stint with the Buccaneers in September of 2012, but was waived from the practice squad after the month. From there, he had the typical NFL career, being signed and released 1,000 times by the Eagles during the last three years. Here's to hoping he sticks around for good this time.
