The Eagles have signed former Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez to a one-year contract about one week after the Jets signed Michael Vick.
Sanchez was released shortly after the deal between Vick and the Jets was completed. The 27-year-old was in Philadelphia on Thursday for a physical.

With a career record of 33-29, plus four playoff victories (three more than Tony Romo), Sanchez should be a solid backup to Nick Foles, if he can recover from a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder that caused him to miss last season.
Maybe this will work out for everyone and Sanchez will have some sort of "Rookie of the Year" type recovery from the injury, causing him to go from a 12-year-old loser to a valuable professional athlete.
That's unlikely, but let's just hope Nick Foles doesn't get injured so we don't run the risk of butt fumbles taking place at Lincoln Financial Field.
