Lets. Go. Eagles! Even though it got a little close towards the end there, the Eagles took care of business by winning 33-27 behind a strong first half.
I don’t want to sound overly confident here but how good did the Eagles look in this game? Besides the initial fumble returned for a touchdown by the ‘Skins, the Eagles absolutely dominated the first half with their new Blur Offense. DeSean Jackson looked like his former self when he reeled in the first TD catch. Vick looked confident running the new offense, and Shady McCoy was making people look absolutely silly with his incredible cuts.
The defense not only didn’t look terrible, but they actually looked kinda good! Who saw that coming? Behind some vicious blitzing (shout out to Kendricks who was all over RGIII) the defense really held the ‘Skins offense in check. The score was fairly close but the game was more or less in hand towards the end. Alfred Morris was basically a non-factor and the Eagles D dictated the play of the game when RGIII had the ball.
Overall, what a hell of a showing! Not only did they play great football but exciting football as well. This squad looks like it’s built for some potential offensive outbursts and could win games with its defense that might bend but may not break. Let’s keep it going next week!
