It’s finally here! Our Philadelphia Eagles go up against the Redskins to open up Monday Night Football this season. It certainly is lining up to be an exciting divisional matchup due to the media spending a lot of time talking up this game.
All eyes will be on the Eagles offense since everyone wants to see what the new Chip Kelly-coached offense will look like. The offense is littered with playmakers at the skill positions and the offensive line should be much improved with many players coming back from injuries. Kelly’s Oregon teams have always had potent running attacks and this trend should hold with Vick, McCoy, and Bryce Brown leading the rushing attack.
The biggest question of this game will be RGIII’s quarterback play for the Redskins. I don’t think anyone believes he is less than 100% at this point, but that still doesn’t change the fact that he hasn’t even played a snap all preseason and still has less than a full season as an NFL QB under his belt. Coach Shanahan claims that the full playbook will be open to him but we will have to wait and see if that is just talk or actual truth.
Regardless, this should be an exciting matchup and will answer many questions that both fanbases have about their beloved squads. Happy Football, and Go Eagles!
