The Eagles head to Oakland this weekend, as they face the 3-4 Raiders Sunday at 4:05 p.m. Philadelphia will look to rebound from two of the worst offense displays in recent memory when they square off with Oakland. The Eagles lost their past two games, both at home, while combining to score only 10 points. With Nick Foles back in action as the starter this week, things look a little less dismal than before.
Foles will try to prove that his atrocious showing against Dallas two weeks ago was just a fluke as he comes off an injury. Someone will need to provide a spark to the Birds offense, as it has had its wings clipped the past two weeks in divisional losses.
LeSean McCoy enters the game as the league's leading rusher still, although he has struggled of late. Shady has been held to just 103 yards on 33 carries in his last two games and will look to break loose against the Raiders and revive the Eagles offense.
On a slightly more positive note, the Eagles defense has looked solid for the past month, despite the Eagles offensive struggles. In their past four contests, the Birds defense has not allowed more than 21 points to their opponent, a drastic turnaround after being embarrassed by Denver in week 4.
Oakland enters the game coming off a three-point victory over the Steelers in week 8. The Raiders will look to move back to .500 with a win against the Eagles on Sunday.
Despite recent struggles, the Eagles are still very much in the playoff hunt with the assistance of a weak division. The Eagles enter this week 3-5 and in second in the division. A win could go a long way in keeping playoff hopes alive for the Birds, but a loss would seem to all but assure those hopes are dashed.
