The 1-3 Eagles head to MetLife Stadium Sunday afternoon to face division foe, the New York Giants. The Giants enter the contest at 0-4 and looking like they are on a mission to get their coach fired by seasons end with their pathetic play.
The Eagles are coming off a thorough stomping at the hands of Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos at Mile High last week. The Broncos embarrassed the Eagles on all fronts, as future hall of famer Peyton Manning continued his historic pace to start the season.
Luckily for the Eagles this week they will face a lesser Manning. Aside from Cooper Manning, Eli is probably the worst of the historic Manning quarterbacks. The Eagles enter the game 1-0 in the division, trailing the Cowboys by only game. With what appears to be the most pathetic division in the league, the Eagles could probably win eight games and still make the playoffs.
The Eagles have certainly racked up the yards this season, but failure to turn all those yards into points has left the Birds unable to compensate for a simply atrocious defense. Shady McCoy enters the game leading the league in rushing yards with 468 and the Eagles will look to him and Michael Vick to lead a balanced and fast-paced offensive attack.
Can the Eagles defense play good for the first time since the opening half of the season against Washington? Lets hope, as a terrible Giants squad will enter the contest hungry for a win.
