Starting tomorrow night, there will not be a weekend without NFL football for a very long time. It may just be a preseason game, but having been without football for 6 months many fans will still be excited about this game, which features the Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh Steelers. That means we'll have the pleasure of watching the top 2 fantasy RB's in action, if only for a drive or two. That leaves a whole game where non-household names will get to perform. We'll take a look at some fantasy-related questions that can start to be answered during tomorrow night's game.
Ben & Dan discuss fantasy relevant players from the AFC North & NFC North, also important news & notes. If you can't see the embedded podcast below visit www.podomatic.com/broadstbeat. Also we can't recommend enough to download the Podomatic app for easy listening.
Wide receiver is easily the deepest fantasy position year in and year out, 2015 is no different. Don't waste your last couple rounds drafting a second QB or handcuffing Arian Foster. (Why did you draft him 6th overall? You know he's hurt right?) Today we take a look at 3 post-100 ADP receivers who you can get in the late rounds or maybe even on the waiver wire and could become a pivotal part of your team.
Big happenings going on at the BSB Headquarters today. We cover all of the major professional sports and college basketball in the area. However, with the rapidly expanding fantasy sports market being neglected, we decided to dip our toes in the fantasy football pool.
We created a new twitter account, specifically for fantasy football, @BSBFantasyBoard, and have finished recording the inaugural fantasy football podcast, which should be posted on the site. In the first podcast, Ben and Dan completed a mock draft in a 12-team standard format league on ESPN.com, with Dan selecting from the 4th spot and Ben picking 11th. This is just the first in a few mock drafts they will do, with a different format and pick selection each time. Below are the results of their first mock draft:

The Chargers D/ST is probably the #1 defense you can use this week, though they'll probably be scooped up early off the waiver wire. Despite the matchup, the Jags may be a bit rejuvenated with Blake Bortles at the helm now. Bortles should be a stash on your bench if you have a QB with a bye coming up in weeks 5 or 6. Toby Gerhart might finally have a good game, as the Chargers do allow the 7th most rush yards in the NFL. On the Chargers offense, this has to be the week for Keenan Allen to break out. Many people drafted him as a low-end WR1, high-end WR2 and he has not delivered yet. If it doesn't happen against Jacksonville good luck trading him. Branden Oliver will get some PT as a rookie this week now that RB's Mathews and Woodhead are out, though Mathews will be back soon. Expect Donald Brown to have a crazy high amount of carries this week. Brown is a must start. |
