Week 4 Fantasy Preview, Late Games

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. San Diego Chargers 4:05
The Chargers D/ST is probably the #1 defense you can use this week, though they'll probably be scooped up early off the waiver wire. Despite the matchup, the Jags may be a bit rejuvenated with Blake Bortles at the helm now. Bortles should be a stash on your bench if you have a QB with a bye coming up in weeks 5 or 6. Toby Gerhart might finally have a good game, as the Chargers do allow the 7th most rush yards in the NFL. On the Chargers offense, this has to be the week for Keenan Allen to break out. Many people drafted him as a low-end WR1, high-end WR2 and he has not delivered yet. If it doesn't happen against Jacksonville good luck trading him. Branden Oliver will get some PT as a rookie this week now that RB's Mathews and Woodhead are out, though Mathews will be back soon. Expect Donald Brown to have a crazy high amount of carries this week. Brown is a must start.
Atlanta Falcons vs. Minnesota Vikings 4:25
Coming off a huge fantasy week, I expect the Falcons to pick right back up against a woeful Vikings team. Joining the fun, should be WR Roddy White, who probably would have played last week if not for the short week. WR Devin Hester is seeing more and more offensive snaps and is a special teams beast as always. RB Steven Jackson is worth owning and maybe starting this week, but despite his TD last week is still part of a large committee. Matt Ryan will be one of the top fantasy QB's this week. For Minnesota, the Teddy Bridgewater era begins, we'll have to see how he does in a full game before really analyzing his value. No one on Minnesota is fantasy relevant and I continue to think Cordarrelle Patterson is severely overhyped. The Falcons D isn't that great though, so this could be one of his good weeks.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. San Francisco 49ers 4:25
The Eagles continue to be fantasy cash cows. Last week the RB's didn't have great numbers, but the receivers killed it, especially Jeremy Maclin with an 8-154-1 stat line. Rookie Jordan Matthews is showing a lot promise as well and is only 31% owned. Go pick him up if you can. On the Niners side of the ball, expect Vernon Davis to return to action and Frank Gore as well. (even though he was technically playing last week, who knew?!) For as good as the Eagles offense is, the defense doesn't quite match that level of talent. Kaepernick, Davis, Gore & even Carlos Hyde are great options this week.

New Orleans Saints vs. Dallas Cowboys 8:30
This game should be the fantasy point mother load for the week. Saints receivers can be frustrating since there are so many mouths to feed, but Cooks, Colston and Stills are all worth starts this week against the Dallas defense. Jimmy Graham too, but you don't need me to tell you that. Expect Brees to return to elite form this week. Khiry Robinson should be getting a lot more reps as well, for those of you holding on to him. The Cowboys will be down in this game and throwing. Start all your Cowboys people. This game should be what Green Bay vs. Detroit should have been last week. Could see this ending 37-31 or some score close to that.

New England Patriots vs. Kansas City Chiefs 8:30 Monday
For KC, Jamaal Charles should start this week, but I don't think that tarnishes Knile Davis' value. He'll still get reps as Charles won't be 100% even if he does play. TE Travis Kelce is growing into his roll on the Chiefs offense well, playing 66% of the snaps last week and going 3-36-1. Good enough to start if you're strapped at TE and will have much hire numbers when he completely steals Anthony Fasano's starting job in a week or 2. Tom Brady hasn't thrown for more than 250 yards all season and the O line is not helping him. This is a make or break week for him from a fantasy perspective. The Chiefs D is so banged up and now you can add DB Eric Berry to that list, he'll be out Monday. If Brady continues this production it might be time to face the fact that he's on the downswing of his career and look to the waiver wire for suitable options. Don't go too far though, he's not droppable yet, this is Tom Brady after all.
