It's almost a shame this Olympic break had to come now and break up some of the Flyers momentum. Their 2-1 win over the Flames this afternoon makes it 4 in a row now against some great competition, Los Angeles, San Jose, Colorado & Calgary. Ray Emery did his best Steve Mason impression today and saved 32 of 33 to help the Flyers hold on to win.
Continuing his hot streak as of late, Steve Mason turned away 38 of 39 shots to help the Flyers earn a win against the Colorado Avalanche in their second-to-last game before the Olympic Break. None other than Mark Streit and Michael Raffl, 2 of the Flyers' own Olympic bound players, scored the goals that lead to the win.
Mason Dethrones Kings
The Flyers bounced back nicely today from Thursday's loss to the Ducks, especially Steve Mason, who posted his 2nd shutout in 3 games. 35 saves was the magic number and thanks to Giroux and Simmonds the Flyers blanked the Los Angeles Kings 2-0.
