Steve Mason returned to the line-up tonight after sitting out the last four games with back spasms, unfortunately the rest of the Flyers decided not to show up, at least not for the first 50 minutes. Antoine Vermette scored a hat trick for the Coyotes (Edit: No he didn't. His first goal was actually credited to Shane Doan) and Oliver Ekman-Larsson chipped in to give Arizona the 4-2 win. R.J. Umberger scored the 2 Flyers goals in the final half of the third period, but it was too little too late.

Fresh off what I would say was one of the best Flyers games I've seen all year, the Flyers travelled down to St. Paul to take on the Minnesota Wild after coming from behind to beat Winnipeg on Sunday. Ray Emery took over the net minding duties and didn't miss a beat, while the Flyers offense accumulated goals from all four lines to defeat the Wild 5-2 and move back to .500 on the season. (14-14-6)
The Flyers were beginning to pick things up a bit, gaining points in their last 5 games (3 of them wins), but Steven Stamkos and the Tampa Bay Lightning put an end to that tonight. The Bolts defeated the Flyers 3-1 tonight, which marks their 6th straight win over Philly.
Last season the Carolina Hurricanes beat the Flyers 4 out of 4 times. That shouldn't have happened as they were second to last in the Metropolitan Division. The Flyers won't have to worry about that happening this year though, as they took it Carolina at the Wells Fargo Center today, defeating them 5-1 in a game that saw damn near the entire offensive roster score a goal.
The struggling Flyers travelled out west to take on the San Jose Sharks tonight in hopes to avoid their first 8 game road slide since the 80's. A lone goal by Sean Couturier was all the Flyers could muster though, as Matt Nieto scored on what could have been an interference call after a Shark player ran into Steve Mason with 12 seconds left.
