Flyers Gain Hard-Earned Point in Loss to Bruins

Going into this game, I was hoping the Bruins would call off the dogs since they've already locked up the Atlantic Division. (Atlantic Division Champions = Boston Bruins, how weird does that sound?) Still, the Bruins brought it today, and that was probably a good thing. A game like this is exactly what the Flyers need to get them ready for the playoffs.
The Flyers may not have won this game, but they got a point out of it, which is enough to put them back into second place in the Metropolitan Division. If putting Vinny Lecavalier on the fourth line was supposed to be a wake up call, it certainly did work. Lecavalier not only had the first goal for the Flyers, but also the goal that would tie it at 3-3 with 25 seconds left in regulation. What do you do with Vinny at this point? He's been moved down to the fourth line, but scored 3 goals in 2 games, does that mean the fourth line is working or that he deserves to go back up to the second line?

The second goal of three by the Flyers came thanks to Kimmo Timonen. Former Flyer, Andrej Meszaros, scored the first Bruins goal of the afternoon. He was voraciously booed, but once again I don't really see the point, he didn't wanna be traded. If we boo him are we not acknowledging that he's in a better position? Either way, I digress. Chara and Bergeron had the other 2 goals for Boston, and Iginla got his ass whooped by Rinaldo, definitely a high point of the game.

Patrice Bergeron and Claude Giroux put the first goals in for each team to make it 1-1 in the shootout. The shootout went to the fifth round. After Read, Raffl and Vinny failed to score, Reilly Smith who may or may not have been a person I made up/a mite on ice scored the game winner for Boston.

The Flyers put up 52 shots, a season high, but it just wasn't enough. Tuukkaa Rraasskk was solid for the Bbrruuinnss today, leading them to a 4-3 victory.

Side note: Boston fans are too damn nice. It's so easy to hate Ranger fans when they come down for game, but I sat next to Bruin fans at the game/on the subway today and they were so freakin' respectful and full of class. Stop making it so hard to hate you Boston fans!

Next game is Tuesday in St. Louis against the conference leading Blues, so y'know the Flyers should win that one.
