The Flyers will be without Vincent Lecavalier and Scott Hartnell going in to what is undoubtedly a very difficult stretch of the season. Tonight the Flyers will visit Detroit before coming back home to host Vancouver & Pittsburgh on Tuesday & Thursday respectively.
Hartnell went down with an upper-body injury during last night's loss to Phoenix and Lecavalier with a lower-body injury. Both are receiving MRI's today, but it does not seem like they should be out any longer than a week.
No word as of yet on what the lines will be. Hopefully McGinn and Raffl will be able to perform tonight better than they did in training camp. Their performance there ultimately sent them back to the Adirondacks.
A lot of the Flyers inability to play together could stem from the fact that more than half the team did not start out as Flyers. Not everyone is truly playing for Philadelphia. From what I saw of McGinn last season, the kid has hustle and I'm hoping he puts it together and can stay up from the AHL soon. We love our stars like Pronger, Lecavalier, Timonen, Simmonds etc. but nothing beats growing you own talent.
Flyers v. Red Wings starts tonight at 7.
