According to GM Paul Holmgren, the Flyers have signed recently acquired defenseman Andrew MacDonald to a multi-year extension.
MacDonald came over from the Islanders at the trade deadline for F Matt Mangene & a second and third round pick in 2015 and 2014 respectively.
MacDonald led the NHL this season in blocked shots with 242. He registered 4 assist in 19 games with the Flyers.
More details to follow, but Twitter seems to think the contract is for 6 years, $30 million. What this most likely means is that Kimmo Timonen is retiring after this year. So, yeah. Let's Gostisbehere to Philly stat.
