Jakub Voracek and Braydon Coburn opened things up 1 minute apart from each other and had the Flyers down only 3-2 with 14:38 left to play.
Blake Comeau added a goal for Columbus off a feed from the trapezoid from Artem Anisimov when the Flyers had basically stopped playing. It looked as if they thought they heard a whistle.
The Flyers got back into it with a goal from Erik Gustafsson who was wide open on the left side after the Flyers sent a 6th skater on the ice in place of Mason anticipating a penalty.
Claude Giroux would provide the equalizer and the game-winner, both of which were beauties. The first came off a Voracek shot from the blue-line that deflected off Raffl. Columbus goalie, Curtis McElhinney couldn't cover the puck after it hit the post and Giroux was not going to be denied, sneaking in behind McElhinney and punching it home.
The last goal was one of the best you could ever hope to see. Giroux spun around and hit the top shelf of the net while falling down at an impossible angle. I've attached the video so you can see for yourself. Appreciate the awesomeness.
Sergei Bobrovsky did not play tonight, but I assume we'll see him over the weekend when the Flyers travel to Columbus for the second half of this home-and-home series.
Sidenote: No Suspension for Tom Wilson
Before I wrap it up I wanna say, "What the f*ck, Shanahan?" You're a clown. You really aren't going to suspend Tom Wilson for his hit on Brayden Schenn 2 nights ago? I don't like playing the victim card, but do you really mean to tell me if Wilson did that to Sidney Crosby you wouldn't have him suspended for a few games immediately? That is all.
