The 76ers played the Knicks on Saturday in the first matchup between the division rivals. While the Sixers have returned to their losing ways, the Knicks have won 3 straight. Both teams' streaks would continue as the Sixers (12-25) lost 102-92.
The 76ers got off two a second straight start as they did against the Pistons on Friday. But much like against Detroit, the Sixers would be unable to halt or recover from their opponent's comeback. Philly ended a close 1st quarter on an 8-2 run to hold a 28-20 lead. The 2nd quarter was defined the game, as the Sixers were completely outplayed. While the Sixers went cold, the Knicks heated up. The Knicks outscored Philly 32-12 in the quarter and took hold of the lead for good.

The Sixers trailed by 12 at the half, which was by no means a death sentence, but the Knicks opened the 2nd half with 4 unanswered points to dampen the Sixers spirits. The Sixers would cut their deficit to 10 with 3:00 minutes in the 3rd but would be unable to cut it to single digits (96-88) until there was only 1:15 remaining in the game. The Sixers would lose 102-92, their 4th in a row, and their 3rd straight at home.

Spencer Hawes and James Anderson both scored 17 points for the Sixers. Hawes grabbed 7 boards and recorded 7 assists but had a team-worst plus/minus -15 while on the floor. Anderson also secured 7 rebounds in his second straight start. Thad Young added 15 points, 4 steals, and 5 rebounds while Turner scored 12 and committed a sloppy 6 turnovers. Carter-Williams scored 11 points while only attempting 6 shots, and dished out 7 assists. Philly outscored New York in the paint 52-42 but committed 2 more turnovers.

Amar'e Stoudemire led the Knicks with 21 points off the bench. Carmelo scored 18 points while collecting 9 boards and 7 assists. JR Smith added 14 points and 6 assists in reserve. The Knicks bench outscored Philadelphia's 50-20.

The Sixers will welcome the Bobcats into Wells Fargo Center on Wednesday. The Bobcats won the first contest between the teams 105-88 in Charlotte.
