Sixers fans rejoice! The 76ers may have tied the longest single-season losing streak in American sports history with 26 defeats, but they would not set it at 27. In an impressive performance at home, the Sixers would get their first taste of victory since January 29th. Philly (16-57) dominated the Pistons (26-47), 123-98.
The Sixers and their fans came out swinging and ready to end their losing skid. Michael Carter-Williams put up 11 points in the opening quarter as Philly jumped out to a 10 point lead. Brandon Jennings was called for a double-technical for arguing a call in the final 2 minutes of the 1st and was ejected from the game. The Sixers struggled to grab defensive rebounds in the first half as Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond helped keep Detroit's possessions alive. Fast-break points came in bunches for the Sixers whose defense led to 14 steals. Philadelphia built a 17 point lead midway through the 2nd and led 70-51 at the half.

Tony Wroten led another Sixers' push in the 3rd quarter with some flashy passing as he finished with 9 assists in his return from injury. In the closing minutes of the 3rd quarter, the 76ers held a 30 point lead. Detroit could not make a dent in Philly's lead and pulled their starters for the final half of the 4th quarter. The 76ers would end their 26 game losing streak and 18 home losing-skid with a wire to wire win.

Thaddeus Young and MCW led Philadelphia with 21 points each. Carter-Williams also grabbed 7 rebounds and recorded 4 assists and 4 steals. Every Sixer that stepped foot on the court contributed in the scoring column as the team shot 52% from the floor and had 46 bench points. Henry Sims added 16 points and 7 boards while Hollis Thompson hit all 4 attempts from downtown for 14 points and 3 steals. Philly hit 12 of their 21 attempts from long range and scored 60 points in the paint in solid offensive performance.

Monroe led the Pistons with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Rodney Stuckey added 17 points (11-11 FT) and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 16 off the bench. The Pistons only shot 39%.

The Sixers will look to turn this win into a streak of the good kind against the Hawks on Monday.
