76ers Extend Losing Streak To 18 Against Sacramento

In their epic quest to chase down Milwaukee and wind up with the best odds for the first pick in the upcoming draft, the Sixers were able to extend their losing streak to 18 in a row Wednesday night in a 115-98 loss to the Sacramento Kings.  Forward Henry Sims finished with a double-double, scoring 20 points on 5-12 shooting and grabbing 10 rebounds.  Sims has been a bright spot for the 76ers during this streak and could possibly contribute a bit next season, when winning will be okay again.
Michael Carter Williams continued his second half struggles against the Kings.  Although he managed to score 13 points and collect 7 rebounds, MCW had troubles holding onto the ball, as he recorded 7 turnovers on the night.  Isaiah Thomas is a good point guard, but he shouldn't be giving MCW that much trouble with his defense.  Hopefully Carter-Williams focuses on shoring up his ball handling in the offseason.

Poor Thaddeus Young, one of the lone veterans who did not get traded elsewhere, scored 16 points, but was ineffective from the field, shooting 5-18 on the night.  It seems that the losing is taking a mental toll on the team, but the optimism from a good off-season can clear that right up.

At this point in the season, the 76ers are officially making a lottery appearance (and likely 2, thanks to New Orleans), so the players need to focus on not developing any bad habits that carry into next season, such as MCW's turnovers and Thad's bad shot selection.  The 76ers will essentially be getting three lottery picks next season, as they will be getting Noel back as well.  Adding the three of those picks to MCW and Thad will instantly make this a fringe playoff team in its initial season, especially in the Eastern Conference, so we have a lot to look forward to this of-season.

Next Game: Friday, March 14th vs. Indiana Pacers 7pm
