A long-range bucket from Wroten would give the Sixers a 9 point lead, their largest of the game with 2:50 remaining in the 3rd. However, Tobias Harris would help Orlando close out the quarter on an 8-2 run. A putback basket from Kyle O'Quinn gave the Magic a 71-69 lead early in the 4th quarter, their first of the 2nd half. Costly turnovers by the Sixers only helped Orlando expand their lead. Philly finished with 19 turnovers. The Sixers could not get anything done offensively in the final quarter and they were unable to piece together a comeback. Orlando only pushed their lead to double-digits in the final seconds and held on for the win. The Sixers lost 92-81, their 14th consecutive defeat. Orlando would win the season series between these teams for the 9th straight year.
The Sixers shot an inefficient 37% from the floor and were limited to only 7 fast break points. Thad Young led his team with 29 points while collecting 8 rebounds and adding 2 steals. MCW finished with 17 points, 10 boards, and 6 assists. The rookie committed an unacceptable 8 turnovers in the loss. Henry Sims grabbed 7 rebounds and added 12 points in another start. Thompson and Anderson went a combined 1-10 from the floor and neither contributed much despite each getting 25+ minutes. Wroten scored 12 points off the bench.
After allowing a career 40 points from Trevor Ariza only the night before, the 76ers allowed Tobias Harris to score 31, his own career-high. Harris also recorded 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Nikola Vucevic secured 17 rebounds and finished with 18 points.
Philadelphia will journey to OKC next. This losing streak looks as though it will continue.
