The Sixers' defense continued to just let up too many points in the 3rd as the Raptors knocked down 3 treys in the quarter. Philadelphia kept attacking the basket but their defense's struggles put them in a hole. Henry Sims got involved in the second half, eventually finishing with 22 points and 8 boards, but Toronto's Valanciunas had his way in Philly's paint. The Sixers would fall short in this offensively packed contest.
Michael Carter-Williams put together a great all-around game in the loss with a near triple-double. MCDubz scored 19 points and added 9 rebounds and 8 assists. James Anderson ended with 17 points and Thad Young added 16. Philadelphia received some help off the bench with both Tony Wroten and Elliot Williams scoring 11 points. The Sixers shot an effective 52% for the game as they hit 8 three-pointer and scored 62 points in their opponent's paint.
Toronto also shot an effective 50% from the field, knocking down 12 from downtown on their way to the win. The Raptors only committed 7 turnovers. Kyle Lowry ended with 29 points and 8 assists while Valanciunas scored 26 and secured 12 rebounds. Both DeMar DeRozan and Patrick Patterson contributed 17 points and 5 rebounds.
The 76ers will challenge the Grizzlies in Memphis on Friday looking to avoid yet another 3 game skid as the season nears its end.
