In just more than 24 hours, the Phillies and Mets played 10 hours and 55 minutes of baseball across 28 innings.

While the Phillies emerged victorious in the wee hours of Saturday morning in 14 innings, it would be a different story on Saturday, as they fell to the Mets 5-4 in 14 innings.

If you made it through all of this one, congratulations. You successfully watched a five hour and 23 minute Phillies game.

It would be an unlikely hero to end this game in the wee hours of Saturday morning, as Reid Brignac singled home the winning run in the 14th in a 6-5 Phillies victory.

You can't give your opponent extra outs.

It's a phrase heard all too much in baseball, and one that was proven true yet again in Philadelphia on Wednesday night.

After two ninth inning errors by the Rockies allowed the Phillies to stay alive, Chase Utley singled home the game-tying run and was followed by walk-off home run by Ryan Howard, as the Phillies won 6-3.

After more than an hour delay due to rain, the Phillies and Rockies game got underway in front of a scarce crowd at Citizens Bank Park.

The Phillies would eventually fall to the Rockies 6-2, but there would be at least one silver lining. Ben Revere hit his first career home run. I'm not kidding, he actually did.

It wouldn't take long for the Phillies to get a hit today, as Ben Revere led off the game with a single. The hits would continue to flow from there.

Just one day removed from being no-hit by Josh Beckett and the Dodgers, the Phillies offense had an outburst, as they routed the Rockies, 9-0.

It took just two minutes for the Galaxy to take the lead over the Union on Saturday night.

Landon Donovan would send a free kick into the box, and Leonardo would head it home. Unfortunately for the Union, Donovan and the Galaxy were just getting started, as they dominated Philadelphia in a 4-1 victory.

The Phillies have placed third baseman Cody Asche on the 15-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain, retroactive to May 23, the club announced Sunday. The club called up right-hander Justin De Fratus to fill Asche’s spot on the active roster.

Asche has hit .258 with four home runs and 18 RBIs so far this season. The 23-year-old has been coming on as late, as he hit .317 with a .406 on-base percentage in the month of May. Asche has struggled in the field, however, committing seven errors in 36 games.

David Buchanan continued to impress on Saturday afternoon.

After earning an invitation to Spring Training late this winter, Buchanan posted a 2.25 ERA in Grapefruit League play, putting the right hander on the Phillies' radar as he was sent to Triple-A to begin the season.

With Cliff Lee landing on the disabled list earlier in the week, it would be Buchanan who was tapped to start Saturday's game, and the 25-year-old looked solid, as he picked up his first Major League win in the Phillies' 5-3 victory.
