The loss completes the Rockies' three-game sweep of the Phillies, and extends the Phillies losing streak to seven games. Eagles security confiscated a drone that was apparently flown over Citizen's Bank Park on Sunday, according to a report by 6 ABC.
According to the report, the drone was spotted flying above third base at some point during Sunday's Phillies v. Rockies series finale. It may just be me, but this is pretty damn alarming. ...I mean really, really, REALLY bad. But then again, don't trust me, according to Ruben Amaro Jr., us fans don't know anything and just like to bitch.
The Phillies' (hopeful) shortstop of the future, J.P. Crawford, was promoted to Double-A Reading on Friday night after tearing up Class-A Advanced ball in Clearwater.
The 20-year-old Crawford, the Phillies' top prospect and top draft pick in the 2013 MLB Draft, had hit .392 with a .489 OBP in 21 games for Clearwater this season. Crawford will now join quite a few other highly ranked Phillies prospects with Reading, as the Phillies' future rebuild takes one more small step forward.
On June 25 2015, the Sixers will look to continue building their franchise by adding another young, high potential piece to the puzzle.Finishing with the 3rd worst record last season (18-64) the 76ers didn't move up or down with their lottery odds but stayed put at #3.
The Sixers also had the possibility of owning the Lakers' and Heat 1st round 2015 picks, but both picks fell within their protected ranges (top 5 and top 10 respectively). These will now carry over into the 2016 draft.  The Flyers made some waves today by signing University of North Dakota head coach Dave Hakstol to be the new coach of the team, replacing Craig Berube. The Hakstol signing was certainly unexpected as his name had not even been floated in the discussions leading up to the move.
 On Friday night, the Phillies seized the opportunity to pick up their first three-game win streak of the season - and first since last August - with the help of a big seventh inning and some late shutdown pitching from Luis Garcia.
After seeing a 1-0 lead turned into a 3-1 deficit in the top of the seventh, it appeared the Phillies would need to wait even longer to finally string together three straight wins. The Phillies offense would respond with three runs of their own in the bottom of the frame, however, regaining the lead holding on for a 4-3 win over the Diamondbacks. Just days after sending third baseman Cody Asche to Lehigh Valley to learn a new position, the Phillies called up third baseman Maikel Franco, the club announced Friday. A top prospect in the organization and the club's hoped third baseman for the foreseeable future, the 22-year-old Franco was hitting .355 (50-for-144) with 12 doubles, four home runs and 24 RBIs with Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Franco could have been called up earlier, but the club likely saw little reason to rush him in a losing season, and waited in order to keep him under team control longer. Since he spent 40 days in the minors this season, Franco will not be eligible for free agency until 2021. In a corresponding move, the Phillies out-righted reliever Dustin McGowan to Lehigh Valley. |
