Donovan McNabb has officially hung up his uniform and called it quits as a Philadelphia Eagle, following the signing of his one-day contract with the team yesterday.  I grew up with this man as my quarterback and couldn’t be happier that he chose to retire as an Eagle.  He certainly received his fair share of flak from us during his tenure with the team, but I think we can all agree that his time with the Eagles was a fun time for all of us.  He may have never won the big one but he captained many deep playoff runs and was the face of the franchise for many years.  I think he is easily one of the greatest Eagles of all time and am ecstatic that he came back home to retire.

The Phillies may be losing on the field currently, but they did win something last night. The Phillies won the competition to sign Cuban right-hander Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez. Gonzalez is a big international signing for the club and could pay dividends in the future, as other Cuban defectors like Aroldis Chapman, Yoenis Cespedes and Yasiel Puig have for their respective clubs.
