![]() After injuring his knee in the home opener against Dallas on September 20th, team physicians were unsure of the severity of the injury. Some officials said that he would be back after a couple of weeks, while others were quick to rule him out for the season. The Eagles finally learned the fate of their newly acquired linebacker on Wednesday.

According to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, the Eagles will place kicker Cody Parkey on Injured Reserve with a groin injury, ending his season, and will sign Caleb Sturgis to take his place.
Eagles Coach Chip Kelly confirmed on Monday that Parkey injured his leg Sunday during pregame warm-ups against the Jets. ![]() Desperate for a win after starting the season 0-2 and having looked just terrible in the process, the Eagles escaped #Popeapalooza this weekend and headed to MetLife Stadium for a matchup with the Jets. The Birds looked like a different team in the first half, taking a 24-7 lead to the locker room at the half and holding on in the second half for a 24-17 win over the Jets. While it's only three weeks into the season, it is safe to say this was a must-win for the Eagles if they have any hopes of making the playoffs. Luckily for the Eagles, not only did they pick up an important win, the Cowboys blew a game against the Falcons. Let's take a look at just a few of the key takeaways from Sunday afternoon's win.
I normally do not care in the slightest what is going on with the Nationals (even though they were playing the Phillies, who won 12-5), but this is just too good to pass up. Jonathan Papelbon made no friends on his way out in Philadelphia and complained pretty much nonstop from the time he signed his big contract with the Phillies.
The Mets locked up the NL East on Saturday, but that apparently hasn't stopped Papelbon from complaining. Papelbon and Harper appeared to exchange words after a Harper at-bat, which led to the two coming to blows in the dugout. Video below.
