The young third baseman, who has had a bit of a rough season, cracked a two-run home run in the eighth inning to tie the game before later scoring the winning run in the 10th, as the Phillies topped the Giants 5-3.

The Phillies would fall behind early, when Michael Morse took Cole Hamels deep to left-center for a three-run home run in the fourth inning.
Marlon Byrd would get one run back for the Phillies in the top of the fifth, however, hitting his 23rd home run of the season, to lead off the inning.
From there, Hamels would continue to receive little support from the Phillies offense, but would luckily not end up collecting a loss in this one, as the Phillies rallied late.
Darin Ruf would lead off the eighth with a single, and Asche would homer in the very next at-bat to tie the game at 3-3.
Forced to extra innings, the Phillies would continue their rally. Asche led off the top of the 10th with a double before being moved to third when Andres Blanco reached first safely on a sacrifice bunt.
After Jimmy Rollins drew a walk to load the bases, Chase Utley was grazed by the first pitch of his at-bat, bringing home Asche to put the Phillies ahead. Ryan Howard would follow with a deep sacrifice fly to extend the Phillies' lead to 5-3, as they topped the Giants in 10 innings.
