Temple took yet another step closer to an NCAA Tournament bid on Saturday afternoon.

After trailing by as much as 16 to Memphis on the Tigers' home court, the Owls would rally back, setting up a wild final minute of play.

With the game knotted at 58-58 and just 35 seconds remaining, Will Cummings would sink one of two free throws to give Temple the lead. Memphis would respond, however, as Kedren Johnson drove the lane for the go-ahead layup with just nine seconds remaining.

Temple would choose not to call a timeout, running the length of the floor before Cummings found sophomore Josh Brown. Brown would hit a bank-shot for the game winner with just 2.4 seconds remaining, lifting Temple to a 61-60 win on the road over a solid conference foe in Memphis.

The Owls would stumble out of the gate in this contest, falling behind by as much as 16 with 2:25 remaining in the first half. Temple would close the half on a 9-3 run, however, to head to the break down just 38-28.

Temple would emerge from the locker room re-energized, opening the second half on an 11-2 run to pull within just 40-39.

The Owls would utilize another big run later in the game to secure their first lead of the contest, as a pair of free throws by Jaylen Bond capped an 8-0 Temple run and gave the Owls a 56-54 lead with 4:24 remaining.

The game would get even more interesting from there.

After Memphis knotted the game at 56-56, Bond would hit a go-ahead jumper with 1:24 remaining in the contest.

The Tigers would respond, however, as Shaq Goodwin sank two free throws with 1:01 remaining to tie the game yet again.

Cummings would draw the foul with 35 seconds left though, giving the Owls a golden opportunity.

In an uncharacteristic game for Cummings, which saw him go just 5-for-11 from the free throw line, the Owls' senior leader would make just one of his two free throws in the clutch, giving Temple a 59-58 lead.

Memphis would respond, seizing the opportunity of Cummings' missed free throw, as Kedren Johnson drove the lane for the go-ahead layup.

Josh Brown would find an opportune time to score his first points of the game, however, as Cummings found him for the game-winning jumper with just 2.4 seconds remaining to boost Temple to a 61-60 win over Memphis.

The win marked Temple's fifth straight, as the Owls appear to be back on track and making a strong case for an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.
