The Phillies announced on Sunday that their ace, and subject of many trade rumors, had an MRI on Saturday, which revealed some swelling.
Lee had been limited to just 13 starts in 2014 due to a strain in the same elbow. The former Cy Young winner had made just one appearance so far in Spring Training, pitching two innings.
According to the club, Lee will try throwing again early this week to see if the discomfort persists.
Lee, who is owed $25 million this season, had been one of the Phillies' top trade pieces entering the season, as the club looks to rebuild.
The setback will definitely affect trade discussions about Lee between the Phillies and other clubs.
Well then, isn't the season already off to a great start for the Phillies?
