Cummings Late Shot Drives Owls Past Bulldogs

Will Cummings couldn't have come through any more clutch than his three point field goal with 7 seconds left on the clock.  Cummings, who finished the game with 17 points, needed all 17 in this game, as the Temple Owls defeated the Georgia Bulldogs in the Charleston Classic.  For the Bulldogs, guard Kenny Gaines led the way with 19 points.

For the Owls, guard Dalton Pepper, owner of one of my favorite names in college basketball, added some spice to the Owls' offense, peppering in a team high 22 points to go along with his 6 rebounds and his 5 assists.  Pepper and Cummings helped to stop the Bulldog onslaught in the second half.  After going into halftime with a 45-32 lead, the Owls took their collective feet off the gas pedal as the Bulldogs climbed their way back into the game.  

Another bright spot for the Owls: they finally found a scoring option off the bench.  Sophomore Daniel Dingle, another owner of one of my favorite names in college basketball, added 12 points for the Owls, which definitely came in handy down the stretch of the game.  Dingle bell rocked.  Sorry for all the puns.  Its Friday night and I've had a bit of creative juice.  I'll wrap it up real quick so we can all go and celebrate the weekend.  In conclusion, great first half for the Owls, tough second half but still able to finish the game off and collect the win.  Pepper, Cummings, Dingle, all great names, all great performances.
