Landon Donovan would send a free kick into the box, and Leonardo would head it home. Unfortunately for the Union, Donovan and the Galaxy were just getting started, as they dominated Philadelphia in a 4-1 victory.
Robbie Keane would find the net 15 minutes later to put the Galaxy ahead 3-0, and Donovan would net another goal in the 81st minute, as the veteran certainly looked determined to prove he shouldn’t have been passed over for the U.S. men’s national team World Cup roster.
The Union would finally get on the board in the 83rd minute when Maurice Edu buried a penalty kick, but it would make no difference, as the Union were dominated in the 4-1 loss.
The Union will be back in action on Saturday, when they face off with Chivas USA.
