Alex Henery would do the only scoring by both teams in the third, as he hit a field goal to bring the Birds within a touchdown of the Chiefs. The Chiefs would respond early in the fourth with a touchdown to extend their lead. LeSean McCoy would run for a 41-yard touchdown to put the Eagles deficit back at one touchdown, but they wouldn't get any closer, falling in the end by a score of 26-16.
Turnovers proved costly in the contest, as the Eagles coughed up the ball five times to the Chiefs zero. The high-octane offense appeared to be running on fumes the entire night, as the Eagles sputtered to a 1-2 start.
