Today's contest was as down to the wire as a game could get. The teams went into the half tied at 33 and entered the second half with the same intensity. Tyreek Duren tied the game at 63 with a layup with 33 seconds left to go, but Jordair Jett was able to convert the game winning bucket at the other end. Jerrell Wright led the Explorers in scoring with 21 points on 8-16 shooting and also added 8 boards. Center Steve Zack recorded a double double in the contest, with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Tyrone Garland had an off day from the field, only recording 6 points on 2-8 shooting, but that will happen when the Billikens revolve their game plan around stopping him. It was another excellent performance from LaSalle, even though they got the loss. St. Louis is a tough, senior heavy team, and they are one of the most experienced teams in the country. The Billikens have yet to lose an A-10 game this season, but LaSalle played them better than anyone else in the conference so far. It was a terrific learning experience for the Explorers and look to carry this effort into their next game.
