Wright had an excellent game, going for 19 points and 10 rebounds. He was also able to convert on a crucial bucket in the waning minutes, while being double teamed by the Hawks. That basket put the Explorers ahead 47-46, a lead they wouldn't relinquish. Cleon Roberts also player well coming off the bench, going for 14 points on 5-10 shooting. Steve Zack struggled from the field. going for just 4 points on 1-7 shooting, but he was able to pull in 12 rebounds.
For the Hawks, Bembry was the focal point on offense once again, going for 20 points on 8-15 shooting. Isaiah Miles was also able to contribute quite a bit, recording 10 points and 7 rebounds. The Hawks have struggled against more experienced teams all season long, but they are faring better and have been in each game until the end. Bembry has been a one man wrecking crew all season long on offense, but the Hawks need another man to step up and be another reliable scorer for the Hawks to start winning again.
The main difference tonight was the differential in free throws. The Hawks shot just a mere two free throws all night, and made both, but the Explorers were able to go 11-14 on the night. La Salle was the more aggressive team all night, and they were able to come away with the win because of it. Both teams were pretty even in fouls called, with 15 called on the Hawks and 12 called on the Explorers, but the Explorers were able to get to the line way more often, and it made all the difference.
