The second goal for the Hurricanes came off a mistake by Luke Schenn, who couldn't control a pass at the blue line. Nathan Gerbe stole it away and scored a fancy between-the-legs goal on Mason. You couldn't even really be angry about the goal because it was pretty darn impressive to watch. I'm going to post that at the bottom of this article so give it a look.
Giroux gave the Flyers a spark in the waning minutes of the second off a backhand goal that ricocheted off Carolina goalie Anton Khudobin (Qdoba?) and into the net.
It's been nice this season knowing that even when the Flyers are down going into the third there's a very good chance they'll come back. They almost did tonight as Scott Hartnell put home a rebound off Qdoba on the power play.
This wasn't the goal that opened the flood gates though, as the Hurricanes put that goal right back on the board. Awkwardly-named Jiri Tlusty scored with 6:10 left off a convenient rebound.
Tonight's game was the first ever game the Flyers had to completely postpone due to weather, which really sucked. Let's be honest, how great would it have been to have some Flyers hockey to watch last night when there was absolutely nowhere to go and nothing to do?
The rescheduling puts the Flyers in a back-to-back situation. They'll head to Columbus to take on Bobrovsky and the gang tomorrow night at 7.
