The scoring almost got started seconds into the game when Chris Kunitz looked to have scored on a third rebound. This was called back though due to the obvious kicking motion. Later in the first period, Wayne Simmonds looked like a man possessed, stripping the puck from the Penguins defense single-handedly and feeding Brayden Schenn for the goal.
Crosby evened the score in the second on a deflection that got by Grossman on its way across the front of the net. The tie was short-lived as Brayden Schenn scored his second goal on the power play. Schenn has 6 goals now, 1 behind team leader, Vincent Lecavalier.
The Flyers defense held strong, breaking up almost every chance the Penguins had on breakaways. Everything looked solid tonight, the offense, the defense and of course the goaltending. Ray Emery registered his second win of the year, saving 30 of 31 shots.
The Flyers head to possibly the most depressing city to have an NHL team, Winnipeg, on Friday to see if they can make it four.
