After heading to the locker room trailing 25-20, Saint Joseph’s turned it on in the second half, going up by as much as 15 on a Ronald Roberts Jr. layup with 10:07 remaining in the game.
The Flyers would respond however, closing in on the Hawks and tying the game at 57 with 11 seconds left as Dyshawn Pierre sunk a crucial layup.
Galloway would come up huge for the Hawks however, sinking the game winning three in the waning seconds of the game, as the Hawks topped Dayton 60-57.
After a dreadful first half of shooting, Saint Joseph’s improved vastly, making 73.7 percent of their shots in the second half. Chris Wilson led four Hawks in double figures with 15, while Galloway and Roberts pitched in 12 apiece and DeAndre’ Bembry rounded things out with 11 points.
Jordan Sibert led the Flyers in the loss, scoring 21 points, while Devin Oliver added 16 for Dayton.
With the win, the Hawks improved to 14-6 on the season and 4-2 in Atlantic 10 play. Saint Joseph’s will next welcome #21 Massachusetts to Hagan Arena on Saturday.
