Penn is still crushing Cornell in the all-time serious and this new notch in their belt makes it 147-74 overall.
On the other side of the ball this was also a very complete effort for the Big Red, but a 50-32 halftime deficit proved too much to overcome. Nolan Cressler led Cornell with 22 points and Darryl Smith and Devin Cherry each added 15. The Big Red are now the owners of an 11-game losing streak in the Ivy League, a bold strategy indeed. They are 1-18 on the season and their only win came against Division III Oberlin College. I scanned every NCAA D1 basketball team to see if there was a worse team out there...there wasn't, only Southern Utah who is also 1-18. Time will tell if Cornell can avoid being this season's worst team in D1.
The Quakers are right back at it tomorrow night at the Palestra to take on the Columbia Lions. A win bumps the Quakers into a tie for 3rd place in the Ivy League, which I like to pretend is the English Premier League since the regular season champ takes it all.
