Lecavalier recorded his fifth career hat trick tonight, first in Philadelphia. Lecavalier was moved to RW on the first line, after perviously centering the 2nd line, in order to help ignite goal-less Claude Giroux. It looks like the opposite happened though, as Giroux assisted on 2 of Lecavalier's goals tonight.
The second period was quiet except for a Frans Nielson goal to make it 3-2.
In the third, Lecavalier lost his balance rushing the net, but that wasn't enough to prevent him from scoring his third as Giroux sent the rebound his way. Matt Read scored on the empty net to make it 5-2, the final. Also must mention that Mason turned in another great performance, saving 26 of 28.
With the win, the Flyers have now won back-to-back games for the first time this year and avoid being the first team since 1941 to not score more than 3 goals in their first 10 games. The Flyers come back home Tuesday to face the Ducks.
