The Fire jumped to an early lead, as Magee found the back of the net in the 16th minute. The Union would respond with two goals of their own however, as Maurice Edu buried a shot to the far post in the 32nd minute before a Leo Fernandes free kick found the back of the net in the 39th minute to put the Union up 2-1.
With stoppage time winding down, the Fire played a ball into the box, drawing a foul and receiving a penalty kick. With ice water in his veins, MacMath would save the shot and the point for the Union.
The Union will be back in action on April 12, when Real Salt Lake comes to PPL Park.
