My Tailgating Tale: Welcome To Miami

Our first of many in our series of tailgating tales comes from fellow twitter follower @fredex11.

My tailgating tale happened in 2003, when the Eagles took on the Dolphins in Miami on Monday Night Football.  I went to Miami with my brother in law and friends and it ended up being pretty epic to say the least.  Not only was I going to see the Eagles play, but I was in a playoff game in my fanasty football league, which made it even more fun.  A win would mean a trip to the finals for me.
Sunday night, before the Eagles game, I was down by 34 points and Joe Horn was my only remaining player.  I was pretty bummed out, since I had a very slim chance of pulling the win off.  But then something incredible happened; Joe Horn scored 4 touchdowns that game, which put me two points ahead in my matchup.  I was feeling great, but my opponent still had LJ Smith left.

Monday night, we head on over to the tailgate and the crowd was already insane and packed with Eagles fans! They just harrassed all of the Miami drivers going by and were getting rowdy.  It was a funny sight to see.  I just kept downing beers and met a bunch of Eagles fans there.  They were an awesome group of fans and we got along great.  We definitely owned Miami that night.

Fantasy football also turned out well for me, since LJ Smith could not find his way into the endzone.  I ended up winning my fantasy football matchup and getting to see the Eagles win in person.  There was definitely some good karma in the air that night. I was so happy about both victories that we kept on drinking after the game.  It was, without a doubt, a weekend I'll never forget.

This was just the first in our series of tailgate tales to come.  Keep on sending in your stories and we might share your tales as well.  They can be funny, sentimental, crazy, whatever.  Also, definitely give Fred a follow.  His tweets are funny and insightful, and he's also a passionate fan.
