"The 50 Year Old BFFs"
Welcome back from the long Labor Day Weekend. Hopefully you spent it relaxing and are ready to be yet again stressed out by work and of course the mass transportation system. Did you miss PATCO Ponderings? Of course not! But here it is anyway.
Welcome back from the long Labor Day Weekend. Hopefully you spent it relaxing and are ready to be yet again stressed out by work and of course the mass transportation system. Did you miss PATCO Ponderings? Of course not! But here it is anyway.
You'll notice these passengers from a distance. Virtually attached at the hip, they never leave each others side. Are they teenagers? No, they are The 50 Year Old BFFs.
They're loud and take up more space than necessary, as they stand or sit in awkward positions on the train in order to avoid getting more than a foot from each other at all times. You expect to see kids this attached to their friends, but these middle-aged passengers seem to be even worse. In the event of an overcrowded train, you'll be able to recognize these people, because, if for some reason they find a person standing between them, they'll shout like said person isn't there in order to keep their line of communication.
You hope and pray you don't revert to this teen-like behavior when you go through your mid-life crisis, but you probably will. So, to The 50 Year Old BFFs, relax, you will see your friend again. No need to disturb the whole train as if you haven't seen them in 20 years and will never see them again. That is all.
